Micropigmentation Is In Your Face, Literally by Kerri Olivia
Micropigmentation is a growing trend. It began in the 1980s as a means for cancer and alopecia patients to cope with hair loss. Although it was a cosmetic alternative for these patients, the reason for seeking permanent makeup today is much more than an alternative.
It’s more like an unexplanatory necessity.
In an era where plastic surgery and other cosmetic surgeries are en vogue, micropigmentation has definitely found a place among the growing industry.
Yet, it is also a microwave era; anything a person wants, a person gets, and the person has to get it quick. There is a huge emphasis on the short period of time in which a person expects to obtain his or her goal.
For example, gamblers have Las Vegas, “The Hangover” franchise, and the lottery: the main goal is the rapid accumulation of money (or rather, the idea of losing it). For shopaholics, there are the credit cards and the occasional ’i-owe-you’ notes. For children, it is the sticky finger and the frequent sugar rushes. For beauty seekers, it is micropigmentation: the new pair of tattooed and symmetrical lips or eyebrows. The works.
Get rich schemes are not only associated with obtaining wealth in financial terms. Apparently, getting rich comes in various forms.
Yet, success does not happen overnight. Winston Churchill may have recalled the road to success as a road of “blood, toil, sweat, and tears.” For those seeking the fruition of their goals in any other way, they risk a lot. If their gamble is on the bad side of their luck, they will ultimately suffer tremendous consequences.
It may be safe to say that inking your face is a huge deal. It is a significant, make-or-break-you deal. This procedure is extremely delicate for patients who have to deal with a messed-up needle, or rather a cosmetician with an inadequate certificate disproving his or her expertise.
The job of many dermatologists is to correct mistakes that cosmeticians (and ultimately the patients) have made.
Certification of people experienced in the field of micropigmentation arises as a growing issue. More importantly, even though a person may obtain certification, he or she does not have the experience that the said certificate claims to the person has.
